Brochure -
The Graphic type that is used would be Bitmap this is
because the brochure would contain images and therefor Bitmap graphic type is
necessary as the vector file type is not compatible with images. However you
are as equally likely to use a Vector this is because if you used a logo and/or
text a vector would be necessary so it was easy visible at all levels. Because you use a variation of graphic types you must save it as a PDF so it you will not loose any of the vectors or bitmaps properties.. There is an image bellow that shows the saving as a JPEG option to get to this stage you go onto file > save as > save as type > PDF.
Website -
The Graphic type that is used would be Bitmap this is
because the website would contain images and therefor due to the vector not being
able to work with images you are limited to using the Bitmap graphic type.
As
well as this you will be using a medium sized image and therefor due to it is
not needed to be increased in regards of size the quality will be fine and you
can use a bitmap file type. However if you has text a Vector would be needed. This is slightly different to the prior way and it will not be saved as a JPEG but as a PNG as seen in the picture above it is just bellow JPEG in the save as type list. A Portable Network Graphics Format or PNG file reduces the size of the file without changing the picture resolution, size or general quality. This is a very convenient thing as if you where to upload it to a website it would be significantly quicker than any alternative. The alternate is the GIF file type which is top of the list at the top this is an adequate choice to use but you can experience problems with the picture quality after uploading due to it being slightly outdated in comparison to the PNG file type.
Vehicle -
The Graphic type that is used would be Vector this is
because the Vehicle would only have a logo and/or text and therefor you would
need it to be resolute at any level and as well as this there is no images
being used so it is not necessary to use Bitmap. This is slightly more complicated than the prior two with the use of illustrator being essential with this one. You will need to change the file type to a vector image and this is easiest achieved with illustrator. Illustrator is available over Mac and Windows so therefore it does not matter what computer type you have as it goes across platform as the saving procedure from early is the windows version and the Mac alternative is slightly more complicated. Illustrator is a well established program in which lots of companies use to produce advertisements and is particularly effective in regards to tracing and text manipulation. Vector file types allows you to separate different drawings whilst still having the freedom to be on the one image.

ReplyDeletewww: for P2 you are expected to explain how different types of graphic images relate to file formats. This is covered accurately in the examples above.
