Unit 1 Task 3 Calender

Unit 1 D2

To learn how to access this in PowerPoint i used a video tutorial on YouTube.
Firstly open a blank presentation, next once on the View tab, in the Master Views group, click the option "Slide Master".
When you open Slide Master view, a blank slide master with the default, associated layouts appears.

Similarly to the last i used a video tutorial to fins out how to import a video into PowerPoint.
Firstly you must open PowerPoint, after this you must clip on the menu option "Insert" which is next to "Design". Once you have selected this option the second last option on the Menu is Import, after this has been clicked on the first option is to import a video, the file browser will appear in which you can select the video.

The last piece of the personal development plan was to forward a message through email.
I decided to use "Gmail" once this has been opened, you must click on the message in which you want to forward. In the top right corner there will be an arrow and drop down menu which can be seen above, click on the drop down menu and click forward to forward the message.

Unit 30 D2

Unit 30 D2 - Describe and evaluate the impact that file format, compression techniques, image resolution and colour depth have on file size and image quality.

File format – File format has an impact on file size and image quality because there are different file types for different compression methods. JPG uses a compression method that analyses blocks of 8x8 pixels, but depending on the image, this could reduce the quality of pixels within a block. It is important to always save the compressed picture as a copy and keep the uncompressed image as the original otherwise it is impossible to get the original quality back. As shown in the picture, if you save your image as a JPEG, it will take fewer pixels to save and it saves up a lot of data compared to if you saved it as a GIF or PNG.

Image resolution – Image resolution will have an impact on file size and image quality because changing Image resolution is measure in DPI, this means that if you increase the resolution then the DPI will increase and the quality of the image will get better because there are more pixels that make up the image, so this should make this image more professional. When the image resolution is increased the image has more pixels, and as I found out this means that the file will get a lot bigger as the number of pixels increases. But decreasing the resolution will make the image quality lower but will reduce the file size.

Colour depth – Colour depth has an impact on file size as well as this it also effects the quality of the image this is due to it is used to describe the maximum number of colours that are used in the image. If there is a high amount of colours then the image will look more realistic when it is done. With bitmap images, the colour depth will affect the final file size. The amount of colours an image can contain depends on the bit depth of its pixels. The higher the bit depth value, the more colour information each pixel can display and the greater the number of colours the image can contain. When finding out how colour depth has an impact on file size and image quality, the RGB colour mode contains 8 bits in each of its three colour channels which are red, green and blue, this gives the RGB image a colour depth of 24 bits. These will affect the quality of the image because it is up to you how much colour you want to put on the image, you can make it more shaded in other parts, or maybe add affects which could turn it black and white or even in a faded like image.

Compression techniques – Compression techniques effect both file size and image quality. Compressed files are significantly smaller than their uncompressed files, they fall into two general categories known as: "Lossy" and "Lossless". Lossless compression ensures that all image information is preserved, even if the file size is a bit larger as a result. It never discards information about the original image. Lossy compression, by contrast can create file sizes that are significantly smaller, however achieves this by selectively discarding image data. Lossy compression creates smaller files by losing some information about the original image. It removes details and color changes it deems too small for the human eye to differentiate. Lossy compression results in pixels and resolution lost after compression, this is so the file can be used more efficiently and at a lower file size.

Unit 30 P5

I have changed the size of the font as well as flipping it to make it easy to read. As well as this i filled in the black where the colours had faded and it was orange.

When using and editing graphics you come across many problems, one being copyright.
Copyright is exclusive rights which can be put on something that the original owner can put on something they produce.

In order to find if something is a copyright you need to look at the image closely to see if this symbol is there ©, if the symbol does not appear in the image then its safe to use however if it is there then you need to find contact with the owner to get consent to the image, this is only if you really need to use the image because it could take a while to find the owner of the original owner.

Trademark may also be a problem when trying to edit and use certain images this what trademark looks like ™.
Trademark is a symbol, word or words which are legally registered or established by use as representing a company or product. The trademark owner can be an individual or a business organization. Depending on the extent of trademark violation, you can be taken to court for trademark infringement or fraud. You will be required to destroy all infringement materials and pay a fee to the holder of the trademark.

Some examples of intellectual property could include: Music, Literature or other artistic work. Under intellectual property laws, the owners are granted certain exclusive rights. Intellectual property legislation's are a form of property under the form of intangible property. Due to it being considered intangible property the creators of the property are allowed to share or transfer ownership of the property however an unrelated person will be prosecuted for using the property without it being transferred from the creator.

Unit 30 P4

The Purpose of this logo is to be put on posters, websites and on the sides of vans to advertise Kingswood Basketball Club.

The feedback i have been given is to center "Kingswood" and to fill in the black stripes where the colour has faded.
